Paulina Mikucki

Accounting Manager

In our latest blog, we chat with our Accounting Manager, Paulina Mikucki.

Hi, Paulina. Can you tell us about your role at One Nexus?

In my role as an Accounting Manager on the finance team, I oversee the day-to-day accounting operations for several of our key entities. I’m responsible for managing month-end close, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, coordinating audits, and supporting compliance across all our accounts. I support the team with guidance and problem-solving whenever issues come up, and I partner with leadership to provide insights that help with planning, budgeting, and overall decision-making. I make sure our financial operations run smoothly and support the bigger goals of the business.

What is your experience in the automotive industry so far?
I didn’t have direct experience in the automotive industry when I started, but working in a finance role has allowed me to adapt my existing skills quickly. The principles of finance remain the same across industries, and I’ve been able to apply my analytical skills, attention to detail, and understanding of financial processes to this environment effectively. As I’ve learned more about the automotive sector, I’ve been able to combine my finance background with industry-specific knowledge, which has helped me contribute confidently and continue growing in the role.

How has your journey with One Nexus been so far?
My journey with Nexus over the past six years has been both meaningful and transformative. I’ve grown a lot during this time, moving through multiple promotions and taking on new responsibilities as the company has evolved. We’ve been through some significant challenges together - from navigating COVID and transitioning into fully remote work, to coping with the loss of our CEO, and more recently implementing a completely new system while reshaping the team. These experiences really strengthened my connection to the company and deepened my appreciation for the people I work with. On a personal note, I became a parent a couple of years into my role, and the support and understanding I received from the company during that time meant a great deal to me. It reinforced for me that this is not just a workplace but a genuinely supportive environment. Overall, it’s been an incredibly positive experience with a team I truly value, and I’m excited for the future and the new challenges ahead.

What would you say you enjoy most about your job?
What I enjoy most about my job is that it’s consistently challenging and gives me opportunities to learn and grow within the business. I’m also fortunate to be part of a great team - one that was built through both tough and good times. Because of that, we’ve developed a strong level of trust and can really rely on one another, which makes the work even more rewarding.

What was it about One Nexus that made you want to get involved?
Funnily enough, I didn’t get the job the first time I applied. A few months later, another position opened and the agency presented it to me. At that time, I was about to start a role elsewhere, but something about One Nexus stood out to me. I decided to apply again - and choosing Nexus turned out to be the best decision. The company’s culture, opportunities for growth, and the overall environment really made me want to be a part of it.

Outside of work, what do you enjoy doing?
Outside of work, I spend most of my time with my family. I’m a mum to a very energetic four-year-old, so lately my free time is filled with messy play and fun little activities with her. In the quieter moments, I love reading and catching up on podcasts. And I’m a huge fan of The Big Bang Theory and Harry Potter, so rewatching them for about the hundredth time.

Finally, what is one thing you would like readers to know about yourself or One Nexus that they might not know already?
Behind every role and every project at One Nexus, there’s a genuine commitment to people - and that’s something that has shaped both my experience and the way I approach my work. I think many people outside the company might not realise just how much collaboration, adaptability, and mutual support sits at the heart of what we do For me personally, these six years have been a journey of growth, not only professionally with new responsibilities and challenges, but also personally - and One Nexus has been there through all of it. Whether it was navigating the uncertainty, transitioning to fully remote work, adjusting to new systems, or even stepping into parenthood, I’ve always felt supported. That kind of environment isn’t something you find everywhere, and it’s a big part of what keeps people here long-term. Another thing I’d highlight is our ability to evolve. One Nexus might be rooted in the automotive sector, but there’s a huge amount of innovation and forward-thinking happening behind the scenes. We’re constantly reshaping how we work, improving processes, building stronger connections, and finding smarter ways to deliver value - all while maintaining a culture that feels grounded, respectful, and genuinely human. So, if there’s one thing I’d want readers to know, it’s that One Nexus is not just a company - it’s a place where people grow, support each other, and keep pushing to make things better. And I’m proud to be part of that journey.
